Review: West End Whingers

West End Whingers, 22 December 2011:

“Iqbal Khan directs with a deft lightness, the costumes (Robert Worley) are surprisingly smart and the set (Samal Blak), appropriately appropriating various pieces of luggage, is a triumph of wit and imagination over economics. Even the programme contains more than one could reasonably expect and it puts the West End to shame, on offer as it is, at a mere 100 new pennies. Worth the trip.”

Review: Time Out

Time Out, 16 December 2011:

“Samal Blak’s design, in which gardens grow out of suitcases, is imaginative and stylish and Brandreth makes a regal Lady Bracknell. It’s not exactly ‘My Fair Lady’. But even Wilde would have admired the new-found silliness
in this light-hearted musical.”

Review: Paul in London

Paul in London, 19 December 2011:

“The Importance of Being Earnest, The Musical currently playing at the Riverside Studios Hammersmith, turns out to be a nice little Christmas surprise. The show with a book by Douglas Livingstone and score by Adam McGuinness and Zia Moranne takes Oscar Wilde’s play and turns it into a brisk and witty affair that captures the essence of the comedy while feeling like a distinct show in its own right.”
